FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • I work with individuals, couples, family members, and groups ages 25 and up.

  • The most honest answer is — we find out together. That's exactly what the free 15-minute consultation is for. There's no commitment, no pressure, just a real conversation to see if the fit feels right. Trust your gut.

  • The intake session is longer than a typical therapy hour for a reason. We slow down, go deeper than surface-level intake questions, and begin mapping the landscape of your history, your patterns, and what you're hoping to move toward. You don't need to have it all figured out before you arrive.

  • Not at all. Many clients come not because something is broken, but because they're in a season of transition and want intentional support. You don't need to be in crisis to deserve care.

  • It's simpler than it might feel from the outside. Here's how it typically unfolds:

You're welcome to email me any questions before doing anything else.

When you're ready, you book a free 15-minute phone consultation. It's a low-pressure conversation to see if the fit feels right.

If we decide to move forward, you schedule your intake session and complete a short intake form beforehand so we can make the most of our time together.

The intake itself is 90 minutes for individuals, 2 hours for couples. It's longer than a typical session so that we can get clarity on your goals and treatment plan.

From there, we meet weekly for 50-minute sessions. Consistency early on is what creates momentum.

As the work progresses and you find your footing, we'll naturally talk about spacing sessions out — reducing frequency when you feel ready.

There's no rush at any stage. We move at a pace that's right for you.

  • I am an out-of-network provider. Depending on your plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Use the benefits checker below to find out what your plan covers.

To request reimbursement from your insurance plan you can either submit claims yourself using a monthly superbill I provide, or I can invite you to Mentaya, which is a service that handles everything automatically for a 5% fee per session.

  • If cost is a barrier, I offer reduced rates, which are reevaluated every 3-6 months.

    Individual therapy: $150 for 50-minutes; $250 for 90-minute intake.

    Couples therapy: $200 for 75-minutes; $320 for 2-hour intake.

Reduced rates are offered on the honor system. If my full fee is within reach for you, please reserve the reduced rate for someone for whom it isn't.

  • Couples therapy is typically a private-pay service. Insurance reimbursement requires a mental health diagnosis, which a couple often does not qualify for. In some cases, one or both partners may meet criteria for a reimbursable diagnosis — and if that diagnosis becomes a clinical focus of the couples work, insurance billing may be possible. This will be evaluated during your intake session. You're welcome to check your potential benefits below as a first step, though whether reimbursement is possible will depend on the diagnosis determined at intake.

  • All sessions are conducted online via a secure telehealth platform. I work with clients throughout California.

  • Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

    Couples sessions are 75 minutes.

Intake sessions are longer — 90 minutes for individuals and 2 hours for couples — to allow for a fuller picture from the start.

I always welcome longer sessions to allow time to do deeper work. You may request to schedule a longer session at any time.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which creates the consistency needed for meaningful momentum. We'll discuss what makes sense for your schedule, goals, and budget.

Logistics

  • Somatic therapy works with the body as an integral part of the healing process. Rather than only talking about your experiences, we pay attention to what's happening in your body — sensations, tension, breath, posture — as a doorway into deeper emotional processing. The body often holds what the mind alone can't resolve.

  • Experiential therapy focuses on your lived, moment-to-moment experience rather than analyzing thoughts or events from a distance. By slowing down and bringing awareness to what's actually happening inside you — emotionally, physically, relationally — change emerges through experience rather than insight alone. It tends to feel more integrated and lasting as a result.

  • Sometimes. Depending on what we're working on, I may offer practices, reflections, or exercises to support the work between sessions. Nothing overwhelming — just tools to keep the process alive in your daily life.

Approach

Consultation for Therapists

  • My consultation services are designed for licensed therapists who want clinical support, practice guidance, or help navigating the intersection of motherhood and private practice.

  • Consultation and supervision serve different purposes. Supervision is a formal, evaluative relationship required for licensure. Consultation is a collegial, collaborative space focused on clinical growth, case support, and sustainable practice building.

  • Not at all. Experienced therapists use consultation to go deeper, get unstuck on complex cases, or navigate a season of personal and professional transition. The work you do on yourself becomes the work you do in the room — at any stage of your career.
